Almo Corp. announced that it has agreed to acquire the assets of AF Lighting from Interline Brands.

Almo Corp. said Wednesday that Warren Chaiken has been promoted to the position of CEO. Chaiken, formerly president and COO, replaces his father, Gene Chaiken- who will remain chairman- representing the fruition of a long-term succession plan. 

Distributor Almo Corp. held its fourth and final Almo Pro A/V E4 Expo of the calendar year in the Metro New York City area Nov. 13, attracting over 600 pre-registered dealers to the one-day event – up from about 400 attendees in 2012.  Thirty-five vendors ringed the perimeter of the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, N.J., showing their newest products to dealers, who also availed themselves of 11 educational courses that counted towards InfoComm CTS certification renewals.

Almo said this week that it has added a second distribution center to its headquarters in Philadelphia. The new facility will handle major appliances and other larger products, with the original center now handling small and mid-size products.

Almo Corp. this week announced that it has added to its sales team in five different U.S. territories.

Almo Corp. said Tuesday that it will open a new state-of-the-art distribution center in Milwaukee this October.
