CEA said Tuesday that the  Smart Home Marketplace presented by Bosch will debut at International CES in January. The area, at CES Tech West at Sands Expo, " will focus on the growing trend of consumers’ wanting and creating smarter and more efficient homes."

The Consumer Electronics Association said Monday that the next generation of Ultra HD technology will be showcased in January at International CES, with the technology featured both in exhibitor booths and in conference programming.

At its annual CES Press Preview in New York Monday, CEA president and CEO Gary Shapiro announced a $50,000 donation to the American Red Cross, in order to assist those affected by Hurricane Sandy in New York and New Jersey. Shapiro, along with CEA conference chief Karen Chupka, shared news about the 2013 International CES.

The first Women in CE career-enhancement forum comprised of several presentations and panel programs illustrating keys to success for females in this industry. One of these panels focused on "Insights on Success: An Exploration on Rising to the Top."

The Anti-Defamation League recently hosted its annual National Consumer Technology Tribute at Cipriani’s in New York City. The group presented Babak Ghaznavi, president and CEO of Paul’s TV with its American Heritage Award; Karen Chupka, CEA’s senior vice president of events and conferences, with the Torch of Liberty Award; and Mindy Grossman, CEO of HSN, with the Patricia Rienzi Legacy Award.
