Irecently became a board member of the CEA TechHome Division. My first meeting was last month in Washington D.C. This trip turned out to be a great experience and one that I learned a lot from, so I thought I would recap some of the highlights in this month’s column. During my time in D.C., I attended CES Capitol Hill, our division’s board meeting, the Digital Patriots Dinner and I also met several members of Congress, including my own Congressman from Charleston, Tim Scott, during the CEA Lobby Day. CR: What do you see is the biggest mistake electronic systems contractors are making now as it pertains to 3D?
Most service issues in A/V systems are directly related to networks or service providers. Recently networks have become increasingly complicated as end users continue to add new products into their systems, resulting in an overwhelming growth in service calls.
In a recent issue, we focused on the HomeConnecTeam (HCT), a consortium of about 80 independent dealers organized by former CEDIA President Rob Gerhardt in response to the entry of ADT, Verizon, Comcast, and others into our world of home integration.
