XANDEM HOME goes live on Indiegogo, bringing its home security system to consumers
Salt Lake City-based XANDEM HOME just launched its new DIT home security system and automation product on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo. The system, which can be installed by homeowners in about 15 minutes, allows users to monitor where people are moving throughout their homes without using cameras.
According to the company, the product detects and locates movements through walls and furniture using a series of 10 or 15 nodes and a gateway hub that plugs into the homeowner’s existing internet connection. The system is controlled through a smartphone app and can be integrated with other smart-home systems including lighting and audio.
Setup involves plugging the nodes into wall outlets around the house, plugging the gateway into the internet connection, enabling the system through the XANDEM HOME website, and using their setup tool to draw out a map of the area and dragging and dropping nodes into their approximate locations on the map.
The XANDEM HOME system will include a monthly access fee moving forward, but early backers through the Indiegogo campaign will have that $10 monthly access fee waved—for good.
The preorder cost for the system through the Indiegogo site is $500.
