Women in CE Legacy Awards Set For Tuesday
Being a part of the consumer electronics industry, navigating the end of one year and preparing to lead the charge into the new year is often just a blur. We are all challenged by balancing the holidays with the desire to spend time with our family and friends—and that’s to say nothing of our planning for CES!
Sometimes it’s hard to catch our breath this time of year. I hope you will take a moment and celebrate with us the contributions that five extraordinary women have made to the growth of our industry.
Taking the stage on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the Women in CE Legacy Award Networking Reception are the five Women in CE Legacy Award Honorees, and I would like to introduce them to you here: Tara Dunion, Sr. Director, Consumer Electronics Association (CEA); Marcia Grand, Vice President and Publisher, TWICE; Mindy Grossman, Chief Executive Officer & Director, HSN, Inc.; Helen Heneveld, President and Founder, Bedrock Learning, Inc.; and Marla Suttenberg, Owner, Sapphire Marketing LLC.
This year’s honorees represent a broad cross-section of our industry, underscoring the significant impact women have made on the growth of consumer electronics through a variety of channels. Many of the honorees have inspired me personally for many years, and it’s a joy to pay tribute to them. Women in CE provides women in the CE industry with a community in which to share essential resources, and to connect with others who are focused on the same vision of empowerment, building networks and supporting career opportunities. Member benefits include a mentoring program, online resources and live events. There are countess men, women and industry associations that have contributed to the support of Women in CE. CustomRetailer and CTPG (Consumer Technology Publishing Group) are proud to be sponsors of this organization.
Plan to join us on Tuesday, January 8, from 7-9 p.m., at the 2013 Women in CE Legacy Award Networking Reception at the Paris Hotel. More information about the 2013 Legacy Awards Networking Reception, and about Women in CE, is available at www.womenince.org.
