Vizio to Sponsor Rose Bowl
Vizio Wednesday announced that it has become the presenting sponsor for the Rose Bowl, the most storied game in college football. For the next four years, the game will be known as the Rose Bowl Game Presented by Vizio, following an agreement announced by Vizio, the Tournament of Roses and ESPN, which has an exclusive broadcasting agreement with the Bowl Championship Series.
As part of the deal, the national championship game in 2014, also played in Pasadena, Calif., will be called the 2014 Vizio BCS National Championship Game, and Vizio will sponsor the 100th anniversary of the Rose Bowl Game in 2014. In addition, Vizio products will be integrated into ESPN's football coverage throughout the year.
The game was previously sponsored by Citigroup, and past sponsors include Sony and AT&T.
"Sports fans, particularly football fans, are a critically important audience for our brand as it continues to grow and expand," Randy Waynick, Vizio's Chief Sales Officer, said as part of the announcement. "Serving as presenting sponsor of the 'Granddaddy of all Bowl Games' provides a rare opportunity to reach a captive audience on New Year¹s Day. It also provides tremendous marketing potential leading up to the game during the critical holiday buying season."
