Vantage announces LiteTouch retrofit replacement system
Savant's discontinuation of the venerable LiteTouch control system leaves a sizable installed base out there. Now other vendors are coming to the rescue to serve LiteTouch customers. First up: Savant competitor Vantage.
With its InFusion LiteTouch Retrofit Insert, Vantage claims to have "a cost-effective retrofit solution that can replace a LiteTouch system virtually right out of the box." It uses existing LiteTouch wiring and electrical boxes to replace LiteTouch keypads with Vantage Capri keypads -- no drilling necessary. And of course, the insert offers an upgrade path to further Vantage solutions.
The UL-listed insert consists of an insert panel, a kit with controller and enclosure, and custom Capri replacement keypads. It can house up to three separate control modules or up to 36 loads per enclosure. Terminal blocks are provided for improved in-field plug-and-play installation and service, "allowing modules to be easily replaced without affecting load connections to the system," said the company. It comes with a five-year warranty.
“This retrofit solution from Vantage allows our customers to quickly and simply upgrade or replace a current LiteTouch/Savant panelized dimming solution with minimal effort,” said Andrew Wale, vice president of marketing for Vantage. “It also enables continuity of user experience without interruption of service today and into the future.”
