URC has made available new two-way control modules to extend integration of the Total Control whole-house home automation system to include two multiroom audio sources: Denon HEOS and CasaTunes. The new modules provide control features normally expected and extensions beyond, URC explained.
The URC-developed HEOS driver enables browse and play of HEOS supported music devices and allows users to manage the queue of the HEOS player, manage grouping of players, observe now playing status with metadata, and provide two-way control of all Transport controls, volume and mute, queue control, playlist control, and more, URC said.
And the CasaTunes driver provide control over browse and search for artist, album, or song functionality, URC said. Further, it provides the ability to send multiple streams of music from iOS devices to CasaTunes and “dozens of other exciting features including triggering macros with the device events.”
"Two of the biggest names in whole-house music are now fully integrated into Total Control,” Cat Toomey, URC’s director of marketing, said in a statement. “Coupled with the recent addition of Autonomic, Fusion Research, and our own Sonos module means Total Control gives dealers more streaming music options than ever. These modules also work with the hot MRX-8, which recently won three major industry awards for the price and performance barriers it breaks in the custom arena."
URC has around 100 two-way modules that expand the reach and function of the Total Control home automation system, and the company said that it is currently working on developing a number of other drivers that will be released shortly.
