AVAD Reorganizes Operations
Distributor AVAD announced Monday that it has undergone an organizational restructuring of both its executive and sales operations. Under the new structure, Jim Annes has been named vice president and general manager, while Wally Whinna has been named executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Annes spent the last six years with AVAD parent company Ingram Micro. He will report to Ingram Micro senior vice president John Soumbasakis, who had led AVAD on an interim basis since last year.
In addition, the company will consolidate from three regions to two, with Steve Clark serving as director of the West region and Kim Brown as director of the East region. It will also consolidate ten of its branches, including Austin, Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando and Raleigh.
“As with any organization, the current economic climate has forced AVAD to take a calculated evaluation of its business strategies and organizational structure,” Soumbasakis said as part of the announcement. “We are confident these changes, which came after a careful decision making process by our management team, will improve our efficiency and customer service while streamlining our internal and external operations.”
