Tributaries announces series 4 speaker cables
Audio/video interconnect cables provider, Tributaries, has announced its series 4 speaker cables.
The SP4BW includes a 4-conductor cable with an attractive woven jacket. The cable geometry consists of a multi-gauge design; two of the four conductors are 14AWG labeled "Low Pass" for low frequency loudspeaker terminals and two conductors are 16AWG labeled "High Pass" for connection to the high frequency terminals.
The SP4BW Bi-Wire Speaker cable also has an internal Star-Quad design created for a bi-wire speaker environment. If a 2-Channel cable is desired, combining conductors will result in a 12AWG speaker cable.
Star-Quad geometry consists of four conductors wound together in a "positive, negative, positive, negative" configuration. The result is the cancellation of opposing electromagnetic fields generated by each conductor pair. This design is created to improve the system's performance by preventing EMI noise from entering and distorting the signal.
To further sound clarity, the SP4BW is engineered with propriety cable winding geometry to reduce distortion. Each conductor is made with 6 bundles of stranded wire where the strands inside each bundle are wound clock-wise.
Then, the bundles are wound counter clock-wise around a heavy gauge solid center conductor that is insulated with a precision formulated PE dielectric. This design ensures low-loss, superior imaging and improved musical definition to deliver a wide-open sound stage.
"We are excited with the performance of the Series 4 Speaker and Bi-wire cables," Joe Perfito, President of Tributaries Cable, said in a statement. "We're proud to say these products are made in the USA, allowing us to offer a superior level of quality control."
