Torus Power launches TOT AVR line of compact power transformers
Torus Power, a manufacturer of transformer-based power components, announced its new TOT AVR Series of torodial isolation power transformers today. The new line includes models that will be made available in Continental Europe (TOT AVR CE) and the United Kingdom (TOT AVR UK) as well.
The updated products add Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to the product, as well as a lower price point. AVR, according to Torus, addresses issues like voltage sags, power surges, and burnouts by providing stable voltage to keep equipment running in the optimal range of +/- 10V for international voltages and 115VAC to 125VAC in North America.
“The all new TOT AVR is a real breakthrough for audio/video enthusiasts,” Kevin Main, VP Sales and marketing for Torus Power, said in a statement. “With the new lower price point, we’ve made our isolation transformers with automatic voltage regulation an affordable solution for anyone looking to improve the overall performance of their AV system. We are excited to introduce TOT AVR to the UK and Continental Europe market next week and to CEDIA Expo attendees in October.”
Other features of the TOT AVR line include Plitron’s NBT noise-filtering technology and low source impedance to connected components and devices, and the AVR lineup meets both IEC and Neutrik standards.
The TOT AVR, which will come in both a rack and shelf configuration, will make its European debut next week, and will be unveiled in the U.S. during the 2015 CEDIA Expo in Dallas in October.
