THX President Reaches End of Contract
“Much is happening in the entertainment space, from new technologies such as virtual reality to the convergence of the various entertainment segments such as gaming, movies, and music,” says Tan. “I intend for THX to continue our focus on delivering the best entertainment experiences to the world and to ensure that our phenomenal team here at THX have the right resources to continue providing world-class solutions to our customers and partners.”
THX Chief Technology Officer Scott Francis will continue in his operational duties, advancing the THX Certification business and product development programs. Bill Rusitzky continues as Chief Revenue Officer. Both of them will directly report to Tan moving forward from here.
THX has reported that CEO and President Ty Ahmad-Taylor has "reached the end of his contract term and is moving on from his role" at the company, after being brought on in November 2015. In his place, CTO Scott Francis will continue in his place.
Ahmad-Taylor was at the helm prior to Razer buying the company in late 2016, and THX notes that the transfer was a smooth one.
“We courted Scott Francis in advance of closing (the THX purchase), and hired him immediately thereafter,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder, and CEO. “Scott is well-equipped as CTO to grow the business from a technology perspective, and he has a remarkable team that we organized with Ty’s assistance, which includes Bill (Rusitzky) and Laurie (Fincham). We look forward to seeing what Ty does in his new role at Facebook and we certainly wish him success.”
There is no news on whether Scott Francis taking over Ahmad-Taylor's duties is permanent or interim.
