The Ultimate Home Theater Experience in the Venetian
Partners in the demo included: Digital Projection International, Seymour-Screen Excellence, Audio Design Associates, Triad Speakers, Kaleidescape, Fortress Seating, D-Box, Perfect Path, MSR Acoustics/ PMI Ltd. and Torus Power—and all of it was controlled by BitWise Controls.
The Rolling Stones’ Sweet Summer Sun—Hyde Park Live Blu-ray was the perfect choice to kick off the demo and should be mandatory for all high-performance retailers and integrators when showing a client the emotional impact of what high-performance audio and video can achieve in a home theater environment.
The Triad system used in the demo was a 7.1 channel system with CR LCR 2 main speakers ($15,000 each MSRP), CR Surround 2 surround speakers ($6,000 each MSRP), and Triad InRoom Gold Subwoofers each driven by Triad RackAmp 600DSP ($2,250 each set MSRP). Total demo speaker system price is $78,000 to $90,000.
This was the first time the system was heard by integrators; while Triad has a strong market share in the architectural and home theater segments, Cinema Reference is a high-decibel, in-room audiophile speaker system designed for larger home theaters—a new market segment that the company is reaching for, and it rocked! Audio Design Associates provided state of the art balanced surround sound preamp/control with the Cinema Rhapsody Mach IV B and room correction with the TEQ Optimizer.
The demo room participants chose BitWise Controls for this demo because the system is easy to program, quick and responsive, with robust functionality from a single interface, which all combines to make an ideal control platform for a dynamic demo where speed is as much a consideration as is the overall experience. Tony Grimani spec’d Torus Power into the demo and has been a strong advocate for the brand and technology. Tony’s PMI (Performance Media Industries) engineered the room acoustics, optics, audio system layout, screen specifications, dimensions and layout.
MSR (Media Specialty Resources Inc.) supplied the Dimension4 Symphony550 acoustical tuning system to control the room’s internal acoustics.
The partnership group (of the aforementioned companies) built up the room, setting up speakers, lighting, video, programming, source material, etc. Everyone followed the plan and process set up by the PMI Engineering folks.
Said Tony Grimani, “In a matter of a day and half, we built up a world-class private screening room inside a basic ballroom of the Venetian congress area. Great picture, great sound, motion seats, easily controlled—a dream come true for any discerning AV client!”
