Inside Lutron's 2011 Residential Opportunities Tour Training
The Lutron Residential Opportunities tour is in full swing and I sat in on the sales and marketing first day training of this three day event at the Lutron Experience Center in Irvine, California.
The tour, which will visit 29 events in 21 locations (see cities and dates below), consists of:
Day 1: Sales: For principals, sales leaders, system designers, project managers – includes HomeWorks QS, Sivoia QS and RadioRA 2 new product overviews, retrofit opportunities, light commercial, fixtures and marketing opportunities.
Days 2 and 3: Technical: For programmers, installers, system designers, project managers – includes detailed HomeWorks QS and Sivoia QS technical training and new software.
The purpose of the tour is to educate Lutron’s residential system providers on the next generation of residential solutions, including the new HomeWorks QS system, which was introduced at the 2010 CEDIA Expo.
Andre LaLande, Lutron's residential marketing director and Rich Black, engineering project manager, provided an informative, high energy presentation to the integrators that were present during my first day of training; including Powerfull Electric, which brought 8 team members from their company alone.
“HomeWorks QS is easier to program, faster to design and install, and provides energy-saving benefits, including superior control of high-efficacy light sources," LaLande said. "It is crystal clear that Lutron is no longer just a lighting control company. We are total home control with innovative solutions for lighting, shades, temperature and energy control. The Dynamic keypad is the new face and style for HomeWorks QS.”
“Built on a new platform of Lutron Quantum Architecture that provides less design time to improve profit ratios for our dealers," Black said. "There are fewer link types with just three; panel, wired and wireless and up to 10,000 addressable zones, including robust new programming software architecture. HomeWorks QS is targeted at the higher-end residential marketplace and remember, when it comes to energy savings alone, with Lutron lighting products there is 10Billion kWh of electricity saved every year.”
