The DaVinci Group Co-Founder & CEO Daniel Kippycash Dies at 49
The DaVinci Group (TDG) has announced the sudden passing of co-founder and CEO, Daniel Kippycash. Kippycash passed Sunday after a brief medical event at the Littleton Adventist Hospital in Littleton, CO.
TDG is a manufacturer of architectural audio and AV integration products.
Kippycash once described TDG as his “dream” company. He founded the group in December 2012 with Alex Chiou, the group’s Chief Technology Officer.
He stated that the group was his dream as it represented the culmination of a series of entrepreneurial ventures - the lessons of which were all applied to TDG.
Kippycash struggled with the personal and physical challenges that come with a lifetime’s struggle with diabetes. According to TDG, Kippycash handled his struggles with grace and even, at times, wit, always keeping an upbeat and positive outlook.
Many were unaware of his struggles with diabetes and the resulting complications.
"All of us at The DaVinci Group are shocked and saddened by Dan's untimely passing," Jeff Francisco, President of The DaVinci Group, said in a statement.
"His vision and strategic clarity have been the foundation upon which this company was built, and we will miss his ongoing insight and guidance."
As a result of Kippycash's chronic medical issues, TDG’s management developed a strategic transition plan, aided by Kippycash.
As a result of these events, and in accordance with existing corporate transition plans, Jeff Francisco, President of The DaVinci Group, will immediately assume all responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer.
Kippycash was born October 21, 1966 and passed away April 3, 2016 at 49 years old. Most in the tech industry first came to know him during his time at Crestron as Director of Business Development. In 2000, he was a founding partner in Xplore Solutions, an IP-based automation control system manufacturer. In 2005, he was a founding partner in The Momentum Group, a concierge technology company targeted at the MDU market.
In 2010, Kippycash became the product manager for the Nirv automation system at SpeakerCraft, the company where he would become associated with colleagues Alex Chiou and Jeff Francisco.
The Kippycash family is in the process of planning the final arrangements.
