Made in North America: Screen Innovations
Technology Integrator: What are the key product(s) that are assembled in North America?
Ryan Gustafson: We proudly research, design and manufacture all Screen Innovations models in our 73,000-square-foot facility in Austin, Texas. Our flagship screen, Black Diamond™, is the only screen material available that absorbs unwanted ambient light from the top and bottom, left and right—making it a highly versatile screen solution for a wide variety of applications indoors or out. Designed to resolve the negative visual effects caused by light scatter, our proprietary ambient-light-rejecting technologies enable Black Diamond™ to absorb ambient light in all directions, even in the path of the projector.
Not only does this reduce light scatter by more than 75 percent, it also preserves the projector’s contrast by allowing only the projector’s light to be reflected into the viewer’s eyes. This results in a more than 900 percent boost in contrast compared to what could be achieved in the same space with the same lighting with any other screen material, paint or surface treatment.
Our new Slate model was developed to be the new standard in screen technology for the masses—replacing the need to settle for a substandard screen in a family room—by rejecting 65 percent of the room’s ambient light, vs. a white or gray screen’s rejection of only less than 10 percent ambient light. Slate provides the missing link in the middle market—an affordable solution for the price conscious consumer.
Filling voids onscreen and in the marketplace, SI’s Pure™ White and Pure™ Gray Zero Edge projection screens feature our proprietary Micro Texture, which is nine times finer and smoother than that of the best screen material available on the market today. Capable of reproducing perfect resolution from 1080p to 8k and beyond, Pure delivers razor-sharp image quality with perfect color and uniformity, to provide a sensory experience unlike any other.
