SVS Experience opens at Electronics Expo
Loudspeaker company SVS has partnered with CE retailer Electronics Expo to open a dedicated high-performance audio “Experience” area in the dealer’s 13,500-square-foot showroom in Wayne, N.J., within commuting distance of New York City.
In that area, the company’s full Prime and Ultra lineups of 12 subwoofers, 10 speakers, and its array of Sound Path cables and speaker wires are being showcased as part of SVS’s omni-channel market strategy.
SVS, which conducts online sales from its own web site, sells through a total of about 100 storefronts and just under 100 integrators, said Gary Yacoubian, SVS CEO.
While the area officially debuted Thursday evening, with Yacoubian on hand to answer questions about the products and conduct demos, and with SVS gear giveaways totaling $5,000 available to invited customers, it has been staged for the last month, said Electronics Expo CEO Leon Temiz. “Our salespeople really like this boutique brand, and so we decided to do a store-within-a-store concept.”
Temiz added that SVS sales had increased 300 percent in that time, solely because of the concentrated display of products and their setup, which is optimized for demonstration. Especially impressive for customers are the subwoofer demos, said Temiz. “With a demo, even customers not looking for a subwoofer will buy it.”
“The area is about marketing our two brands as much as anything,” said Yacoubian. “Leon’s the perfect partner at ecommerce and brick and mortar. This partnership works well because it is a combination of a metropolitan market and a professional sales team, and this retailer has made a commitment to us – it’s an organic partnership.” To attract local-area customers, both SVS and Electronics Expo engaged in customer outreach via their websites and through social media prior to the grand opening of the Experience area.
