Spiral Groove delivers turntable upgrade
Spiral Groove has released an upgrade package for its flagship SG1.1 turntable that will bring it up to Version 1.2 status.
"The upgrades include a heavier platter, isolation feet, damping material and various other parts and an improved magnetic platter levitation system," said the company. "The upgrade also adds a new power supply faceplate and serial number badge." The company claims the enhancements will improve sound quality and performance.
The improvements will be incorporated into the upcoming SG1.2 turntable.
The heavier platter "adds more impact to the bass and a bit more focus and depth to imaging," said the company. The new feet and 20 pounds of additional weight "contribute to the turntable's improved isolation and reduced noise floor," it said.
The Spiral Groove SG1.2 upgrade is currently available at a suggested retail price of $6,000 and is performed at the Spiral Groove factory.
