Infinity Systems’ redesigned Total Solution TSS-800 is a compact 5.1-channel home theater loudspeaker system ($899 SRP) that includes four two-way satellite speakers, a center channel loudspeaker and a 10-inch, 150-watt powered subwoofer. Included is Infinity’s Metal Matrix Diaphragm driver technology for improved sonic accuracy and refinement. Available in platinum or charcoal finish.
Triad Speakers’ OnWall Mini LCR 3.0 Loudspeaker System ($1,250 MSRP in standard black; $1,350 MSRP in white or silver finish; additional $300 for custom paint-match finish) combines left, center and right channel speakers into a single small enclosure that the company says is ideal for on-wall use with a 42-inch flat panel. For use with larger flat panels, the enclosure can be ordered in custom widths to match that of the display.
Boston Acoustics’ new flagship E Series loudspeaker line features five different speaker sizes from compact bookshelf models to full-sized floor-standing units. The top-of-the-line E100 (pictured, $2,500 MAP) stands six feet tall and sports six 5.25-inch woofers, a 5.25-inch midrange/woofer, a 3.25-inch midrange driver, a one-inch tweeter and a rear-facing VR tweeter.
SpeakerCraft has added five on-wall speakers to its Tantra Line that are designed to complement the aesthetics of flat panel TVs. The entry-level Tantra One (pictured, $200 SRP) is a surface mount speaker with a 5.25-inch aluminum cone woofer, a pivoting one-inch aluminum tweeter and optional table and floor stand. Its secure bracket assembly allows for mounting onto any wall surface. Available in silver or black finish.
KEF’s new Home Theater 3000 5.1-channel speaker system includes the HTB2 high-powered subwoofer (pictured, $799 retail), which features a long-throw drive unit and a passive radiator powered by a 250-watt Class D amp. Its intriguing configuration allows for vertical or horizontal positioning.
Polk Audio’s RTS100 ($1,200 SRP) is the first in-ceiling speaker to be THX Ultra2-certified. It measures 14 inches in diameter and features dual 5.25-inch midrange drivers and a one-inch Ring Radiator tweeter mounted between the drivers. The speaker comes with both a perforated metal grille and a cloth grille, so homeowners can choose their favorite look and installers don’t need two SKUs.
