Screen Innovations Adds Three Colored Cables to Zero-G Screens
Last year, Screen Innovations rolled out their "Rollable Television" that removed the typical black masks around the top and bottom of a projection screen. The streamlined screen gave the illusion of floating, thanks to two Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMwPE) cables.
Those same cables now come in three new colors -- Sky Blue, Forest Green, and Warm Gray in addition to the offered White, Gray, and Black.
“We ran Zero-G through an extensive destructive testing cycle, and standard aircraft cable continued to have a metal failure due to friction created in each individual stainless strand. We moved to UHMwPE cable because it is 80% lighter than a comparably strong steel cable, far more flexible, longer-lasting, and it maintains its strength and flexibility in all conditions,” said Ryan Paul, Director of Design at SI. “On top of that, it has the lowest carbon footprint across its service life of any comparable alternative. At SI, it takes the best to make the best.”
The colored cables hope to give homeowners the ultimate illusion of a floating screen by matching almost any environment background. The best part? SI offers the cables at no additional charge.
