Savant’s assimilation of the LiteTouch lighting products line took another step forward at last week’s CEDIA Expo, as the company demonstrated its first two controller options under the Savant Lighting SmartLighting moniker.
Introduced as part of Savant’s automation and energy management ecosystem were the SSL-P002 ($600) and the SS-P018 ($2,000) SmartLighting controllers. The P002 is suitable for projects requiring less than 40 keypads, while the P018 is for larger jobs, as it affords the installer multiple integration options.
Two new keypad power and wire management boxes, the Savant Keypad Link SKL-1000 ($200) and SKL-4000 ($700), designed to aid in wire management an troubleshooting as well as to power Savant LowVoltage keypads without consuming enclosure space, also debuted.
Craig Spinner, Savant’s director of marketing, said the controllers are designed for backward compatibility with LiteTouch systems already deployed in the field as well supporting third-party control systems.
Also on display at the Savant outpost was the company’s SmartClimate thermostat, due out in early 2013, featuring configurable keypad buttons. In combination with Savant’s SmartEnergy Monitor, introduced at CEDIA Expo 2011, the company is aiming to offer integrators a way to provide clients a “compelling solution to manage energy elements in the home,” said Spinner.
