Savant rolls out line of affordable home technology products
Smart home technology manufacturer Savant debuted a new line of smart home products that it said will let homeowners start enjoying their entertainment in minutes, while also being among the most affordable available at present.
The new line of products is headlined by the Savant Remote, which the company said combines the convenience of a universal remote with the power of home automation. The device lets users control a multitude of devices (more than 380,000, according to Savant) including Sonos, Apple TV, cable boxes, and Roku, as well as their lights, from a single device.
The Savant Remote also allows for voice commands where users can say, for example “Food Network,” to flip their television to that channel, or “Apple TV” to power on that device. Voice control also lets users switch their Savant scene—preset controls for specific “moods. Saying “Relax,” for example, could cue up soft music and dim the lights, while saying “goodnight” would shut everything down.
“This new affordable line of products builds on our years of experience in the luxury market, designing technology that makes enjoying home easier and more personal,” William Lynch, Savant CEO, said in a statement. “Our aim with the new Savant Remote was to create an easy to use but incredibly powerful entertainment interface, and address the major sources of frustration with traditional and universal remotes.”
Savant also rolled out Savant Instant, an in-app guided setup for its new line of devices that it claims gets users up and running in minutes.
The new line of devices will be available in early December, Savant said. The Savant Remote + Host entertainment package will retail for $499, while the Lamp Controllers will be available separately for $99 each.
