Savant Releases Compact Lighting and Energy Control Modules
The new lighting and energy control modules from Savant deliver individual load-level control and utility-grade reporting of energy usage data throughout the home. In partnership with sister-company, Racepoint Energy, the modules are capable of supporting large appliances, outlets, pool pumps and other electrical loads up to 30 Amps.
Beyond their functionality, the Savant lighting and energy control modules are easy to install and eliminate the need for oversized specialty panels that often come with a steep price tag. Ryan McDaniel, president of One-Touch Automation, called them an “installation game-changer.” Another integrator was also pleased with the hassle-free process of installing the modules:
“Savant’s new modules make it so much easier to train electricians—they are more comfortable working with a familiar, standard electrical panel,” said Joel Thomas, Principal at Sync AVI. “Displaying the load name on each module is also super convenient, making it easy to identify each one. We appreciate that there is less overall wiring to pull—the installation was intuitive start to finish.”
Since the light and energy control modules are compatible with the Savant control ecosystem, integrators are able to deliver better smart home functionality. Once installed, the modules can deliver energy consumption data from the entire home to the Savant Pro app. Homeowners are able to review their power consumption and make real-time adjustments directly from their mobile device or through the Savant system.
“These innovative energy modules create a valuable opportunity for integrators to deliver far more than conventional lighting control,” said Savant CEO Bob Madonna. “Now there is a complete lighting and lighting control ecosystem available from Savant that includes shades, fixtures in partnership with USAI Lighting and a level of control capability and energy management unprecedented in the smart home market.”
