Savant Offering Two New Cloud Tools to Remotely Manage, Configure, Deploy
In what might be their most significant update yet, Savant is offering integrators two new software platforms to manage different aspects of their ecosystem. Utilizing their flagship RacePoint Blueprint software and their Pro App, Savant looks at their newly dubbed Central Managment and Studio software as "the most significant innovations since Savant was founded 13 years ago."
“Just as our Blueprint software revolutionized the methodology for custom system configuration and deployment, Savant Central Management and Savant Studio represent the next leap forward in cloud-based integration software,” said Robert Madonna, CEO of Savant. “Savant installers now have access to a comprehensive suite of tools that provide new levels of service to their clients and greater opportunity to expand their businesses.”
Their Central Management tool is a cloud-based service that does exactly what it says - offer a single point of management. The tool can be accessed by mobile devices and both PC or Mac, giving integrators access to software revision tracking, remote diagnostics, time/date stamped systems logs, host maintenance, and configuration capabilities.
Savant has doubled-down on security by requiring permission-based access. Pros can take that one step further with "internal access tiers" that allow limited access to a client's home and data. The mutual consent aspect can be as little as an hour, giving the client the ultimate last say in what the integration company can see at a glance.
Using broader strokes, the Central Management tool is also a really good way for integrators to see problems in real time and service them immediately. This gives installers a heads-up to any potential issues, firmware updates, and software releases and allows them to be deployed remotely. It's a page right out of the RMR revolution that is sweeping the industry but builds on that philosophy with the mutual client consent access.
The second piece of software, Savant Studio, is a tool aimed to help field techs utilize the full power of their Mac computers through just an iPad.
On a granular level, the Studio is a field configuration tool for entry-level end-to-end system design and deployment. Utilizing Savant’s new S2 Host at the core, Studio supports the full range of features and services with Savant music, lighting, climate and their line of Savant Pro remotes. The full range of deployment means there is less time wasted and, in conjunction with Central Mangement, all project files, configurations, and revision management history are stored in the cloud.
Savant Studio and Savant Central Management, the latest additions to Savant’s software and services suite, represent a critical opportunity for integrators to modernize their business practices including addressing client security and privacy policies, creating scalable programming and service teams, and developing auditing practices for field service, employee access and system/software versions across all installations.
Savant Studio and Savant Central Management will be available to all Savant integrators in Q3 2018, with beta deployments nationwide going on now.
