Sanus Shows New Racks, Mounts at CES
Furthering the trend of CE mounts getting more compact, Sanus debuted two Super Slim wall mounts designed for flat panel TVs. Their slimness enables TVs to be mounted extremely close to the wall, accentuating the thin look of flat panel sets even further.
The new Super Slim models—the VLF320, which provides 20 inches of extension to TVs with 37- to 84-inch screens; and the VLF322, which extends TVs from 26 to 47 inches up to 22 inches out—will be available in the early part of 2012.
Another new, slim (1.38 inches) product is the VM4001, an on-wall shelf that will hold units of up to 15 pounds. Designed to be unobtrusive, it can be mounted directly below a TV for a seamless look, and comes with an integrated cable management system to hiding and organize cables. Multiple units can also be combined.
On the furniture side, Sanus rolled out several new pieces in its Basic Series line, which is designed to be assembled quickly and easily without tools. New products in the line include the BFV546, which has two pullout media storage drawers; the BFV157, which has heavy-gauge steel construction and an open design for maximum airflow; and the BFV348, which has a distressed black finish for a classic look and feel. All three of these pieces are compatible with Sanus's new Furniture Mount System, which secures 32- to 60-inch TVs to a furniture-mounted pillar instead of a wall. These products also work with the company's Elements ELM701 anti-tip strap, an alternative to traditional TV wall mounting.
Also displayed at CES was the company's new EcoSystem, a customizable AV rack accessory that can be used as a single power source for all of a user's low-voltage equipment. It has a multi-volt power supply with power switches, USB ports and 12 outlets that work at 12V or 5V, as well as a thermostat kit to monitor the rack's temperature.
