Russound today introduced new amplifiers as well as new additions to its XStream whole-house wireless audio system. They won't be available until year's end, but they'll be in display at Russound's CEDIA EXPO booth.
The A250 and A2100 rack-mountable amplifiers will ship in December at a price TBD.
“Versatile stereo custom integration amplifiers are the foundation of whole-house audio,” said Charlie Porritt, CEO of Russound. “With the A-Series, we’ve made the job of our installation partners a little easier, from rack-mount design to the ability to run multiple amps together or to boost individual zones. The A250 and A2100 are ideal distributed audio building blocks.”
More info about the amps from the press release:
Both units feature buffered loop output to enable using multiple amplifiers in one installation, in addition to audio and voltage trigger sensing to enable seamless activation when needed. The 4 ohm stable design allows up to two pair of 8 ohm speakers may be utilized.
The A250 and A2100 utilize a fanless design, allowing the amplifiers to be used in rooms or cabinets where fan-driven units would cause unacceptable noise levels. A switching internal power supply will be used so that a single amplifier can be sold anywhere in the world with only a change in the IEC-compatible power cord. Both units ship with detachable rack ears.
The 50-watts per channel A250 and the 100-watts per channel A2100 both feature gold-plated RCA analog audio inputs and outputs (standard red and white), with audio signal sensing. Power status is indicated by a bi-color LED. The clean front-panel has only the power button, with trim pots, Signal Mode Slide Switch and Bridge Mode Slide Switch on the back-panel.
Meanwhile, Russound added two new components to its XStream system: the XSource streaming audio player and XZone4, a four-stream four-zone audio system. Like the amps, the devices will ship in December at a price TBD.
