Reasons to Attend CEDIA Expo
Many people believe that attending and exhibiting at trade shows is not worth it because of financial considerations, the time spent away from work, the fatigue, etc... It would seem that the reasons to not attend a trade show far outweigh the reasons to attend. That couldn't be further from the truth, especially with shows like CEDIA Expo 2010, which, during good economic times and bad, is always worth the effort and expense. Here are some reasons why.
What better place to network than one where the entire industry convenes at one time in a single space? This is truly a once-a-year opportunity. The exposure you and your company gain, as well as chance to interface with major manufacturers and other players is priceless. Collect those business cards so you can do a follow up once you're back home. And make sure to get permission to market to the people you meet.
See All the Latest Products
This is probably the most exciting reason for many people to attend the show. Folks in our industry use CEDIA Expo as the launching pad for their newest products, even many that won't be available for months. It's beneficial to experience these products first-hand so that you're able to offer them to your clients as an option. Clients today are savvy researchers, so don't get caught not knowing about the latest technology.
Gather Competitive Intelligence
As a business owner, it's difficult to get competitive intelligence: knowledge on how you compare to your competitors, how they do things, what makes them more or less successful. Take advantage of the show by walking the floor and asking questions.
While walking the show floor, make sure do the following:
* Collect a bag full of literature on suppliers and distributors in your field.
* Exposed yourself to new marketing concepts.
* Put yourself on mailing lists
