RCA and Acoustic Research Show Off Products at CES
At the CES press conference, VOXX subsidiaries RCA and Acoustic Research showed off new home products.
RCA began with its 2012 Best of CES Innovation award-winning USB wall plate charger. A $19.99 plate that turns a wall socket into two USB ports, while leaving one regular outlet.
RCA, noticed that even when people have hundreds of channels, they spend most of the time on just 10, so RCA's new line of universal remote controls makes programming one-touch channels even easier.
Also for the home RCA showed an auto sensing LED nightlight and USB charging port for $16.99, and a line of USB charging clocks to be available in May running from $14.99 to $49.99. For the road, a nightglow USB travel charger.
New home products from Acoustic Research also took the stage. The Acoustic Research home theater power station with SpeedPass aims to make plug 'n play a reality for families. The power station has connections right on the front to easily connect portable devices to the big screen and speaker system. Versions with 8 to 10 ports will be available in April.
In audio, Acoustic Research is adding Bluetooth capability to speakers with a $129 unit in May, and Apple AirPlay to speakers on a wireless network for $199.
Acoustic Research also showed a 2012 CES Innovation award winning outdoor Bluetooth wireless speaker that is UV and water resistant and offers hidden storage for portable devices, due in April for $129. Also due in April for outdoors is the stylish AWS5 Bluetooth lantern speakers.
