Following up on their promises made at The Summit back in March, ProSource has announced a 12 member committee to help asses the opportunities for dealers to start, grow, and master the lighting and shading market.
Their mission is to review and approve the adoption of vendor partners for use by the general membership of ProSource. In addition, the group will assist in developing educational opportunities for all members of the organization.
"The lighting and shading categories are an important initiative for the members. Together they represent the largest percent growth categories for the group," said Andy Orozco, Vice President of Business Development, ProSource. "As an organization driven by committees, the team of member volunteers will be our guide to integrating quality lighting design, lighting fixtures, and control options — realizing maximum profitability for each member of the group."
The members include:
- Jonathan Wesco, Allegro Home Entertainment
- Tony Calero, Arracal
- Davis Tyson, DB Media Solutions
- Vince Sanders, Design Media Group
- Eric Grundleman, Eric Grundelman's Cool AV
- Michael Cogbill, ETC
- Bert Herrero, First Priority Audio
- Lenard Gale, Imagine More
- Steve Weber, Liaison Home Automation
- Todd Jarvis, Sterling Home Technologies
- Blake Jochum, Synergy
- Lee Travis, Wipliance
Lighting and shading have been a hot topic across every buying group with each of them taking pretty unique approaches to how they should conquer the growing category. The last time Workman sat down to talk to the press about lighting, he was cautious to call anything an initiative but implied that they should be more of a philosophy.
"Our job is to think not what today is but to think about what two or three years out looks like," Workman said at their annual meeting in San Antonio. "I think we've got the stage set for that next evolution of productivity, efficiency, and service. We can never give up our service position to the consumer. That's what differentiates us."
