Pioneer Reveals VSX-832: 5.1 Channel Receiver With 3.1.2 Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Support
Pioneer has announced the VSX-832, a 5.1-Channel AV Reciever that will be the company's first product to support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X through a 2.1.2 or 3.1.2 configuration. The $479 receiver is also Dolby Vision compatible, supports 4K/HDR/4:4:4 and HDCP 2.2 on all HDMI inputs. The VSX-832 also offers FireConnect and DTS Play-Fi multi-room audio streaming alongside normal streaming options such as Spotify, Pandora, Deezer, and Tidal.
Alongside the VSX-832 release, Pioneer introduced the VSX-532, an entry-level model that won't offer as many networking capabilities and costs $379. Both models have built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Pioneer also offers their Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System, that "automatically compensates for differences in speaker size, level and distance, and equalizes response." Synchronized Sound with Phase Control also offers a solution for the phase-lag between the subwoofer and the main channel speakers caused by the bass management filter. Phase Control compensates the delayed bass to improve sound synchronization and is offered in both models.
Pioneer's VSX-832 and VSX-532 will be available in April.
