Pakedge launches new gigabit wireless access point
Pakedge, a manufacturer of residential and commercial end-to-end networking platforms, announced the availability of its new gigabit wireless access point, the WX-1. According to Pakedge, it’s the first and most-comprehensive access point in the AV industry.
The WX-1 is an 802.11ac access point that features a 3x3 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) radio configuration for up to five times faster connection sped and four times more bandwidth, allowing twice as many clients to access a network than an N based access point, according to Pakedge. The WX-1 supports channels up to 80Mhz wide, meaning it can process up to four times as many signals per channel. And its more secure, supporting RADIUM (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) servers, and more secure WPA and WPA2 signal encryption.
Pakedge discussed more details of the WX-1 in a statement:
Designed for bandwidth intensive multimedia traffic, the WX-1 boasts intelligent features such as TruStream and Pakedge Zones which are able to recognize and prioritize latency sensitive voice and video traffic for seamless performance. The WX-1 also maintains high throughputs at long ranges – distances where others drop off quickly. This stable and effective throughput performance is attained through a combination of factors including six internal antennas based on a Pakedge proprietary design, high transmit power radios, as well as SectorMaxx and Fluxx technologies.
Pakedge will debut the WX-1 and the rest of its AV-specific network products at the CEDIA Expo in Dallas in October. And while at CEDIA Expo (booth #6414), Pakedge will raffle off access points and giving away power banks to visitors who stop by their booth.
