The big hype around CEDIA this year was undeniably A.I. An abundance of manufacturers promoted different products that possessed the digital assistant, and although many companies had very novel solutions, the otherwise fledgling technology did have one very interesting frontrunner in Origin Acoustics Valet.
Valet is an amplifier that essentially creates a four- or six-zone audio system that enables a homeowner to plant an Amazon Dot in the ceiling of any room of the house. The backbone of the unique solution relies heavily on OA's existing Zip-Clip mounting system to hide the dots behind a ceiling grill and creates one of the best ways to add voice control directly into a distributed audio system.
And now, Portal has become an exclusive partner to get it directly to dealers.
“Origin is thrilled to offer our products as Portal Select,” said Nick Berry, Executive VP at Origin Acoustics. “We are always looking for ways to provide additional value and benefits to our existing dealers, as well as finding new and creative ways of putting our products in the hands of new dealers. This partnership does both.”
Portal has been making a ton of interesting moves as well. Just this year, they had a successful launch of their new B2B, an Amazon-esque platform that has amassed more than 1.5 million SKUs. More recently, they have found themselves in a partnership with ProSource that dynamically improves the buying experience of all the buying groups partners by enhancing their exclusive distributor, Expert Warehouse.
“Origin’s focus on dealers extends past the installation genius of their products,” said Kirk Chisholm, CEO and Founder of Portal. “Origin is committed to helping dealers in all aspects of their businesses, including making it as easy as possible to do business. That’s why we’re excited to partner with Origin, and to help bring one of the coolest new products of 2017 to Dealers.”
Portal Select already boasts over 200 Origin Acoustics and iRoom products on their digital catalog and a move like this solidifies their position as one of the most influential products that integrators can take of this year. And with all the momentum behind them, this certainly won't be the last move we hear from the nimble team at Portal.
