Late last week, NHT announced that it has hired an industry veteran and promoted one of its own. Dave Working, a 30-year industry veteran of the CE industry, has been selected as the new director of sales and marketing for NHT, and longtime in-house IT manager Jonathan Sun has been promoted to director of operations for the organization. The moves come on the heels of NHT Cofounder Chris Byrne’s recent announcement that he will be retiring from the company.
Working’s endeavors in the industry have included founding his first business, Pacific Coast Audio Video—a specialty retail store in Corona Del Mar, California—and following that up with a move into the custom integration space where he founded Cinematouch Systems. He sold that company in 2014 and has been consulting ever since.
“Dave is a perfect fit with NHT,” Byrne said. “Dave has been a significant customer for over 20 years, and as such he knows our products, our philosophies, and has solid ideas about where and how NHT should grow. He’s a focused hands-on manager, very creative, and understands the needs of our dealers and consumers.”
Working added, “Chris and I talked at the recent CEDIA convention in Dallas. I have always loved the NHT brand, it’s people, and products. I bought in years ago and you won’t find a more dedicated fan base in audio.”
Sun, the new director of operations, is a graduate and former employee of UC San Diego.
“Jon is one of the brightest, most resourceful young men I have encountered in many years,” said Byrne. “He has a great feel for product and understands the manufacturing and logistics issues a CE brand faces. NHT is lucky to have him on board.
“I believe I am leaving NHT in good hands and that the brand will thrive because of both Dave and Jon’s efforts,” said Byrne.
