New Name For Barrett's
Chicago-area retailer Barrett's Home Theater said Friday that it has changed its name to Barrett's Technology Solutions. The change was made, the company said, because "the growing focus of its products and services has moved beyond home theater.
The move follows the decision earlier this year by HTSA to change the "HT" in its name from "home theater" to "home technology."
Barrett's also said that it will begin carrying such products as Lutron's lighting center, a home energy management system from Powerhouse Dynamics and both home automation products and a an educational networking consumer display from Control4.
"'Home theater' no longer represents the extent of our services," Joe Barrett, the company president, said as part of the announcement. "Barrett's Technology Solutions better illustrates a broader spectrum of our diversified capabilities in both the residential and commercial space. Besides audio and video, Barrett's sells lighting systems, home automation systems, home networks, and various other technologies."
