Live e-Learning Webinars
As travel costs rise and small businesses struggle with the effects of a lagging economy, elective travel expenses can become increasingly difficult to justify. At the same time, periods of slow business offer the chance to invest some time in strengthening your business through strategy, education and training.
In response to the current demand for accessible education, CEDIA University is offering e-Learning courses in a live Webinar format. These instructor-led courses, adapted from CEDIA’s most popular titles, provide the interactive experience of live instruction in a travel-free format.
CEDIA’s live e-Learning includes curriculum from all five CEDIA University colleges: Electronic Systems Business (ESB), Electronic Systems Customer Relations (ESCR), Electronic Systems Designer (ESD), Electronic Systems Project Manager (ESPM), and Electronic Systems Technician (EST). Courses will be held at 12 p.m. EDT Tuesdays and Thursdays through August, and will be worth either 1.5 CEUs (90-minute courses) or 3.0 CEUs (three-hour courses). Each live e-Learning Webinar will be recorded and archived in CEDIA University’s e-Learning library for later purchase by students who are unable to participate in the live version.
In addition to providing the benefit of education without travel, select live e-Learning courses have been designated as preparation for CEDIA’s Advanced EST and Designer Certification exams. Candidates will begin with a Web-based Pre-Test Assessment, which will determine areas of weakness that can be addressed through selected live e-Learning courses. For additional preparation, exam candidates can take part in an Ask the Expert panel session at this fall’s CEDIA EXPO in order to gain clarification on exam topics. This preparation program will replace the optional all-day pre-exam review sessions, helping to ensure that certification candidates are more thoroughly prepared to sit for the exam.
For students who are interested in Web-based education but unable to attend scheduled sessions, CEDIA continues to offer its self-paced e-Learning program. More than a dozen of the most popular courses from CEDIA University’s EST and ESD colleges use the latest technology to incorporate interactive simulations into in-depth instruction. At the end of each class, students take an online assessment to reinforce course objectives and understanding. CR
