Nest Integrating with Control4, Crestron, URC, RTI
Nest Labs announced Tuesday, ahead of CEDIA Expo, that it can now integrate with several major names in home automation, including Control4, Crestron, URC, RI and Dropcam.
The announcement from the Google-owned company, which also came ahead of Apple's product event Tuesday, was made in order to "[make] it easier for professional installers to bring Nest into their business, and providing consumers with more ways to experience Nest in their homes," the company said.
“We launched the Works with Nest program with consumer brands including Whirlpool, Jawbone and LIFX, forming meaningful connections like appliances that knew not to run when energy prices were high or light bulbs that flashed when your smoke alarm went off,” Matt Rogers, founder and vice president of engineering, Nest, said as part of the announcement.
“Today, we’re excited to bring Works with Nest to whole-home automation. Professional installers are a key market partner for Nest and we’re committed to enabling our products to connect with the home automation systems they trust and install every day.”
