Outdoor loudspeaker manufacturer NEAR announced that the company will be offering a technical training course at CEDIA Expo that addresses a “technique that is widely misunderstood” by many residential integrators: the use of 70-Volt amplifier/speaker systems. The course, “What Every Residential Integrator Needs to Know About 70V Systems,” will be conducted by NEAR division general manager Bill Kieltyka.
Topics that Kieltyka will cover include how 70V systems work, the audio coverage, impedance and wiring problems they can solve, and potential downsides to the technology. The goal of the session, NEAR said, is to help attendees learn how to get better outdoor audio results by applying the techniques that will be covered in the session. Live demonstrations will be used throughout the training session to help achieve that goal.
The session by NEAR will be held on Thursday, October 15 t 4:30 p.m. CST in room 151/152 in the Manufacturer’s Product Training area on the first level of the Hutchison Convention Center.
