MRI recaps its Northeast fall expo
Northeast regional distributor and PowerHouse Alliance member MRI brought premium manufacturers and dealers together for a full day of expert trainings and hands-on demos during its 14th Annual Fall Expo held last week at the Sturbridge Host Hotel and Conference Center in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.
MRI said that hundreds of dealers were on hand to learn about new products directly from manufacturers, while also participating in new training sessions and getting up to date on the latest trends that are shaping the CE industry.
“As a dealer, we don’t always get the opportunity to go to the larger shows like CES or CEDIA, and the MRI Expo provides necessary trainings and the venue to get one-on-one time with manufacturers,” attendee Chris McDonald of Northeast Entertainment, said in a statement. “I know many fellow dealers who believe they don’t have the time to attend these shows, but this expo is important enough to mark on your calendar and work around it.”
The event was highlighted by a keynote speech from industry veteran Jeffery Boccaccio, president of DPL Labs, who weighed in on some of the hot topics shaping the industry. A former integrator, engineer, and manufacturer, Boccaccio shared his thoughts on the challenges consumers and integrators face in terms of JHDMI interoperability.
“This has been one of the best shows I’ve ever participated in, there was a solid turnout and a great response from the audience because they were really eager to learn,” Boccaccio said in a statement. “I think almost every single person who sat in on the keynote came up to me afterwards with questions and interest in the challenges our industry is facing with HDMI interoperability.”
On the manufacturers side of things, MRI said that more than 50 companies made their presence felt this year, including some top groups like Sony, Epson, Samsung, Luxul, URC, Yamaha, RTI, 2GIG, Ubiquiti, and more.
