Meridian Audio Grabs Best New Hardware at CEDIA
Meridian Audio grabbed Best New Hardware at the 2017 CEDIA Awards after a summer of awards success, anniversary celebrations, and a host of innovative new products for its prestigious 218 Zone Controller.
The 218 Zone Controller, new for 2017, uses Meridian up-sampling technology to improve audio output from a range of AV technology in both media room and whole home applications. The comprehensive range of audio input and output options, including Meridian Speakerlink, optical, and analog inputs, and digital and analog outputs.
“We are over the moon to have won Best New Hardware for our 218 Zone Controller at the 2017 CEDIA Awards," Meridian’s CEO John Buchanan said. All entries for the Best New Hardware category went through a shortlisting stage, and then a face-to-face presentation with the judging panel. This rigorous technical assessment involved in-depth consideration of technical capabilities, industry best practice, and how the integrator confronted practical challenges. The judges decided that the Meridian 218 deserved to win, as the product answers many everyday challenges, is an innovative and flexible solution, and is capable of providing high-resolution audio to a wider audience.
“The 218 is a fantastic product. It’s a great option to lift audio quality from range of sources in the house, plus the compact size means we can put it anywhere - in a rack, behind the TV, or in a cupboard," Luke Newland of New Land Solutions said. "It’s a great product to have in the toolkit.”
With CEDIA Best of Show Awards for the 271 Digital Theatre Controller and 251 Powered Zone Controller, as well as the CE Pro BEST Award for the 251 Powered Zone Controller under its belt, 2017 has been a fantastic year for the company. Now, maintaining the Best New Hardware award, Meridian is setting the standard for industry professionals, with even more innovation planned for the months ahead.
