Using ZigBee wireless communications, the SP-1000 can be monitored, controlled, programmed and remotely accessed via BlueBOLT’s energy management and control platform, helping to eliminate wasted power, lower utility bills and automatically reboot network equipment.
Clare Controls’ solutions offer Clare integrators the option to combine applications with individual energy-saving potential into multi-functional routines. A basic “Away” scene shuts down all unused systems (i.e., lights, A/V, etc.) and adjusts the thermostat when users leave for the day. A slightly more sophisticated routine could adapt seasonally, opening and closing shades, turning lights on and off, and adjusting the thermostat to offset or leverage heat and light loss or gain for optimal energy conservation.
The Control4 Wireless Thermostat adds intelligent temperature control to a home along with flexibility that supports most HVAC systems. The g! system from ELAN helps users monitor their energy usage and make money-saving adjustments by providing complete climate histories for each room and the usage history for each lighting fixture. One of the newest features in ELAN g! is local weather-based events, so the irrigation system knows to delay when it’s raining and window shades know to open or close when it’s sunny. The backbone of the ELAN g! Entertainment and Control System is an ELAN HC Home Controller. The entry-level unit is the HC-4.

The two new energy management products include a Wi-Fi-enabled wall plug and a current sensor, both delivering significant energy management data at cost-effective price points. An ideal solution for retrofit; they do not require rewiring, Savant’s Wi-Fi SmartPlug delivers power measurement and surge protection for individual appliances as well as remote on/off control capability using Savant’s TrueControl apps. The current sensor enables integrators to offer monitoring of a single circuit that is hardwired without a plug being accessible.
The Somfy Z-Wave to Radio Technology Somfy Interface, Model ZRTSI-1811265, receives Z-Wave transmissions and translates them to motor control commands for Somfy’s range of Radio Technology Somfy (RTS) motors within third-party automation systems. Features include a new LCD screen with visual prompts and feedback and correspond capability with up to 16 Radio Technology Somfy channels. It plugs into any standard 110V AC outlet, and is Z-Wave-certified.
URC’s TRF-ZW1 Extender opens up Total Control systems to the broadly appealing world of Z-Wave-enabled products. It delivers two-way control of Z-Wave door locks and lighting from URC’s interfaces, smartphones and tablets, and it will adjust lights from anywhere – and thermostats, in the near future. Also from URC come third-party two-way modules for a host of energy management products, including TED (The Energy Detective), HAI lighting and thermostats, Prolifix thermostats, Lutron RA2 v2.1, Snap AV Wattbox, and more.
The Vantage Equinox 73’s single-layer dashboard is always available, allowing for simple control of integrated lighting, audio, video, comfort, energy and security systems through full widgets on the InFusion system. Companion mobile apps complete the experience. The Energy widget dashboard displays real-time and cumulative kWh energy usage; the full-page layer displays cost per kWh and current energy cost tier. •
