Lutron Systems Featured Extensively in HGTV Dream Home 2011 Giveaway
On behalf of Lutron Electronics, Co., Inc., select members of the consumer electronics press were allowed access to this year's HGTV Dream Home 2011 Giveaway last week. We were escorted at this event by Lutron's senior public relations manager Melissa Andresko, and Jack Thomasson, a professional house planner who produces the HGTV Dream Home.
The 15th annual HGTV Dream Home is located at Spruce Peak in Vermont’s Stowe Mountain Resort and is situated amid rolling hills and extreme ski slopes. The main overall design thrust is a blending of rustic mountain appeal with modern architecture. The home will be awarded on March 19, after an the entry period ran between Jan. 1 and Feb. 18 yielded approximately 76 million entries. Said Jack Thomasson, “This is by far the most entries we've ever had for any Dream Home giveaway.”
Created with the bold, innovative ideas that make HGTV Dream Homes so exciting and unique, the home includes three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and is a very creative use of living spaces. The half-acre home site is nestled in the gaze of the magnificent Mt. Mansfield with its breathtaking scenery and unlimited outdoor activities. The total $2 million Grand Prize package includes the fully-furnished home, $500,0000 and a GMC Acadia Denali.
To the home, Lutron contributed several energy-saving products including, Maestro switches and Pico wireless remote controls. The house featured Lutron's RadioRA 2 total home light control system and Sivoia QS Wireless automated shades, both of which operate on Lutron's wireless Clear Connect RF Technology, plus the Maestro countdown timer and occupancy sensor.
