Lutron Battery-Operated Shades Among CEDIA Intros
Lutron took aim at the retrofit/mid-market segment with the introduction at CEDIA Expo of its Sivoia QS Cellular Shade system, which boasts a Lutron innovation called Triathlon Battery Life technology. The technology offers three-year battery life and uses D-size batteries and just 1/1,000th of a watt in standby power, said David Weinstein, vice president, residential sales. It is available Oct. 24 starting at $299, he said.
Also introduced were the Finiré LED downlight recessed lighting solution, designed, said Weinstein, in response to typical complaints about LED lighting and its shortcomings. It will be available in Fall at $498 and up, in two varieties (4-inch square and 4-inch round).
A third introduction was the TouchPRO wireless thermostat, designed in conjunction with Honeywell; it is due out in October at $450, he said. Its design is compatible with the RadioRA 2 system, said Weinstein.
