Linn partners with fashion industry to launch “stylish” in-home music systems
In an attempt to introduce a bit of fashion sense into the production on high-performance in-home music systems, U.K.-based Linn has partnered with several reputable names in the fashion and design industry. The result is Linn’s new Series 5 music systems, which the company said will “deliver world-class sound in a package that offers previously unachievable levels of personalization.”
And for the launch of Series 5, Linn designed a new textile speaker cover, called Linn Fabrik, which will come in a variety of colors and designs and will be able to be swapped out by the user. Linn partnered with fabric designers Timorour Beasties and Harris Tweed Hebrides to create dozens of new speaker cover collections that are slated to drop in early 2016. And, Linn said, it will continue to design and develop new covers moving forward.
Internally, Series 5 features Exakt technology, which the company said allows for customization of its music systems without compromising sound quality.
“The options for personalization don’t end with how the system looks,” Linn said in a statement. “Using Linn’s Space Optimisation+ technology, Series 5 speakers can be placed wherever they look best in the room, removing the need to place speakers in the optimal position for sound quality. This powerful technology eliminates the unwanted distorting effects of every room to reveal the true sound of the music.”
Pricing for the Series 5 systems start at £9,250 (about $14,300 USD).
