LG Unveils "Dual Premium" TV Strategy
LG Electronics this week unveiled its "global TV lineup" for 2015, featuring what it's calling its "Dual Premium Strategy," featuring both OLED and what it calls Prime UHD TV models.
The OLED models include 55-, 65-, and 77-inch models, all featuring what it calls the "ABCD" concept, which stands for Angle, Black, Color and Design.
Meanwhile, the LG Prime UHD TV, described as "a tier above" previous Ultra HD TVs, features ColorPrime technology, ULTRA Luminance, 4K In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel and Prime Mastering Engine.
The premium TVs will launch in march.
“We’re excited to be introducing a comprehensive range of distinctive TV products that deliver stunning picture quality to communicate what we mean by premium,” Brian Kwon, president and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company, said in a statement.
“LG OLED TVs and PRIME UHD TVs reinforce the brand as synonymous with picture quality. With these unparalleled home entertainment solutions, LG is finding itself in a very favorable position as the premium TV market leader.”
Also Tuesday, LG announced that it is extending its NCAA sponsorship deal through 2018.
