LG Ultra HD TVs Unveiled at Video & Audio Center
LG factory executives, engineers, CE industry representatives and customers were on hand as Video & Audio Center of Santa Monica, Calif., hosted a launch event for LG's new 4K Ultra HD TVs at its custom home theater showroom Thursday night.
The event was the worldwide introduction and first sale opportunity for consumers to experience or purchase the new flat panel displays that tout full-array backlit LED display technology.
Pricing for the new LG LA9700 Series 4K Ultra HD TVs is 55-inch ($5,999) and 65-inch ($7,999).
It was a was packed house with huge press coverage for HTSA member Video & Audio Center.
"We are honored that our showroom has been selected as the launch venue for these incredible new LG 4K Ultra HDTVs and marks another first for us and LG," Joseph Akhtarzad, co-owner of Video & Audio Center, said. "We expect that attendees will be blown away at the stunning realism of the TVs 4K performance capabilities and will continue to be very popular with our clients."
“Our rollout plans are to focus on our specialty retailers in the regional channel," LG's John Taylor said. "Los Angeles has been first with Video & Audio Center, then Brandsmart in Miami, PC Richards in New York, ABT in Chicago and Crutchfield in Virginia. This should be completed by August 1 with the remainder of the country through the end of the year. We are in the right retailers, this is still an 8K set; it’s a premium product for a premium customer.”
