LG and Discovery will reveal “game changing innovations” that could shape the future of technology
LG Electronics USA is partnering with Discovery Communications on new content, featured on Discover Digital Networks and the Science Channel, that will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the most “ground-breaking innovations and the innovators behind them,” LG explained.
The custom content, which LG said is inspired by the comapny's OLED TV display technology, will give viewers a peek into never-before-seen sci-fi-level inventions, including a look at how LG's OLED TVs are made.
“LG innovations bring technologies of the future to consumers today, so it made perfect sense to team up with Discovery¹s top-notch digital team to raise awareness for these products that will truly make a difference in peoples¹ lives,” David VanderWaal, vice president of marketing, LG Electronics USA, said in a statement. “This new content series will feed viewers' voracious curiosity of new technologies and show them that the future of TV technology is available today with LG OLED TV.”
The main driver of the new custom content is Discover's popular Test Tube series In the Making, hosted by engineer Dr. Mike North. An episode that debuts on October 15 will feature Dr. North as he tours an LG OLED panel factory. LG and Discovery will also take viewers through the evolution of television with a series of custom webisodes and blogs across the sciencechannel.com site and Discovery's TechnoBuffalo.
