LG Debuts Curved OLED TVs at Best Buy Launch
LG Electronics Monday announced that it is now selling its first OLED TVs in the U.S. The company held a launch event at Best Buy's flagship Magnolia Design Center in Richfield, Minn., and is selling the products at that store now.
The product is a 54.6-inch curved OLED TV, called model 55EA9800. It will retail for $14,999, when it debuts at Magnolia stores in several U.S. cities.
The OLED TV will come to New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle and San Antonio in the coming weeks, with more locations to come later.
“The OLED TV experience is one that must absolutely be seen to be believed,” said Jay Vandenbree, senior vice president, LG Electronics USA, and head of LG’s U.S. home entertainment business.
“The next-generation display technology and the ground-breaking ultra-thin curved design in the LG CURVED OLED TV results in an experience that is destined to be the benchmark for home viewing and TV design going forward. There’s no better evidence that with LG, it’s all possible.”
The TV is also the first of its kind with THX certification.
