High-performance speaker maker Leon Speakers has partnered with high-end audio electronics and speaker manufacturer Krell Industries on a new architectural speaker – the $6,000, customizable Modulari Ion – designed to enhance flat-panel TV sound quality. It is to ship in November.
Noah Kaplan, Leon president, and Bill McKiegan, Krell president, made a joint announcement of the collaboration during CEDIA Expo on Thursday. “We are all about where art meets audio,” Kaplan said in referencing the company design philosophy that has migrated to the new speaker.
The Ion leverages technology and build elements from Krell’s Modulari Series – namely acoustically inert, low-diffraction cabinetry, along with high-performance drivers and low-distortion crossovers – along with Leon’s audiophile-grade cabinet-building expertise.
“This, our first effort with Leon, brings reference design to on-wall/in-wall applications,” said McKiegan.
