Legrand Radio Frequency Lighting Control System to Work With Alexa
Underscoring its commitment to IoT connectivity and intelligence in the Built Environment, Legrand today announced it will launch an Amazon Alexa smart home skill for its Radio Frequency (RF) Lighting Control system. The announcement was made during the North American launch of Legrand’s ELIOT program that detailed Legrand’s IoT strategies, partnerships and new IoT products and services.
A result of today’s announcement, Legrand customers with Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Amazon Tap or Amazon Fire TV will be able to control their RF Lighting Control system via Alexa when the Legrand update is released in December 2016. Highly intuitive and scalable, RF Lighting Control can be deployed in a single room and is easily expanded to serve as a whole house lighting control solution. As a leader in inspired designs, Legrand’s RF Lighting Control is currently available in two stylish and highly functional design collections, radiant and adorne. The new IoT functionality is backward compatible at no cost with existing Legrand RF Lighting Control installations.
“Voice control has made significant advances and is providing real value in the community today,” said John Selldorff, Chief Executive Officer of Legrand North and Central America. “Alexa is a leading IoT voice service and we are pleased to work with Amazon to add Alexa integration to our award-winning line of RF enabled adorne and radiant lighting controls.”
The Legrand RF Lighting Control solution includes a whole house lighting controller, Tru-Universal dimmers, switches, scene controllers, plug-ins and mobile apps for iOS and Android devices.
