With a major distribution announcement here in the U.S. behind them, Klipsch has turned its attention to the Asian market as the premium audio brand looks to expand its presence globally. Klipsch announced that it will begin selling a limited assortment of its headphones, table top speakers, and sound bars online and to select retailers in China.
Initially, Klipsch will offer its products on Tmall.com—the world’s second-largest ecommerce site—effective immediately. The brand will then move onto JD.com and select retailers’ websites later this fall.
Products that will be included in the international expansion include the new T5 family of in-ear headphones, including the T5 True Wireless earphones we just got done reviewing; the Klipsch BAR 48 and BAR 40 sound bars with wireless subwoofers; and the updated, award-winning line of Heritage Wireless Three II and One II table-top speakers.
“Developing a premium brand presence and increasing our market share online in China is a significant strategic initiative for us,” Vince Bonacorsi, vice president and general manager of sales and marketing, APAC, Australia and New Zealand for Klipsch Group, Inc., said in a statement. “China is one of the world’s fastest growing economies. We will continue to invest into this channel to create new opportunities for all of the exciting tech-focused products we have coming to market.”
